Abbott and Costello were an iconic comedy duo in American entertainment, active primarily in the 1940s and 1950s.

Bud Abbott (1895–1974) and Lou Costello (1906–1959) first met in the early 1930s while working together in burlesque shows. They began performing together as a comedy duo, developing their signature routines and comedic timing.
