Planet of the Apes Movies in Order

Based on Pierre Boulle’s 1963 French novel La Planète des singes, The Planet of the Apes film franchise revolves around a dystopian world where intelligent apes rise to dominance over humans.

The original film series consists of five movies, and there’s also a more recent 4-movie reboot series. The first story from 1968 is about Astronaut George Taylor (Charlton Heston) who crash-lands on a planet ruled by intelligent apes, with humans living as primitive mute creatures.

As Taylor navigates this strange world, he discovers a shocking truth about the planet’s history.
